How many porta potties does your event need?

Four steps and one worked example, from the PSAI chart we size by.

1. Guests ÷ 100

Standard units: guests ÷ 100. Deluxe flushing units: guests ÷ 75. 150 guests at the deluxe rate = 2.0.

2. Multiply by hours ÷ 4

A 6-hour reception is × 1.5: 2.0 × 1.5 = 3.0. Or keep × 1 and add a mid-event pump-out.

3. × 1.25 for alcohol or heat, then round up

Bar open or forecast above 80°F? 3.0 × 1.25 = 3.75 → 4 units.

4. Accessible + hand wash

At least 5% of the units accessible (minimum one), so 1 of the 4. One hand wash station per 10 units, and one at every food stand.

150-guest wedding, 6 hours, bar

3 deluxe flushing units + 1 accessible unit + 1 hand wash station. Or one two-station trailer + 1 deluxe + 1 accessible.
