What changes about porta potty rentals season by season in the Lehigh Valley?
Winter rentals in Bethlehem need antifreeze service, a plowed path and sometimes a heated trailer; summer rentals need extra deodorizer and more frequent pumping; spring brings mud and soft ground that stops trailers; fall is the busiest event season with Celtic Classic, Garlic Fest, Halloween events and the Thanksgiving football crowd. We adjust service, placement and unit choice to the month.

How do you winterize a porta potty?
On every service visit from mid-November through February we pump the tank, pressure-wash with warm water, refill the tank charge with a non-toxic propylene-glycol antifreeze and deodorizer mix rated to about 0°F, add antifreeze to the fresh-water tank of flush and sink units, check that the door seal and latch move freely, and clear snow from the roof vent. Units at unplowed sites get moved to the nearest plowed spot.
What do seasonal rentals cost?
Seasonal rentals use the 28-day cycle: $185 for the first cycle of a standard unit plus $65 delivery and pickup, then $165 per renewal, with weekly service and winter antifreeze included at no extra charge. Heated two-station restroom trailers for winter events are $1,650 per weekend or $3,900 per 28 days plus power. Twice-weekly summer service is $45 per unit per week. Pennsylvania sales tax is 6%.
Parks, sports leagues and campgrounds that book April through October in one order get the volume rate at five or more units. Full fee table on the pricing guide.
Seasonal & winter rentals: questions before you book
Do porta potties freeze in a Bethlehem winter?
The tank can freeze when nights stay below about 20°F, which Bethlehem sees most January weeks (average January low 21.8°F at the Allentown airport station). We add non-toxic antifreeze on every winter service visit so the liquid stays workable to about 0°F. Flush and sink units get antifreeze in the fresh tank as well.
Can you service a unit after a snowstorm?
If the service truck can get within 25 feet of the unit. Keep the path plowed and the unit door clear. If we cannot reach it, we return on the next route day at no charge and note the missed visit on the invoice.
Which unit works for a winter market or Christmas event?
For vendors and staff at a multi-weekend winter event, a heated restroom trailer. For guests at a one-day tree lighting or Christmas parade, standard units with antifreeze and a hand wash station with the antifreeze mix. Christkindlmarkt at SteelStacks runs weekends from November 13 through December 20 in 2026, and vendor areas there need units winterized.
Is summer heat a problem for units?
Odor is the summer issue. Bethlehem highs average about 85°F in July and a tank left a week on a busy site will smell. We add a double deodorizer charge June through September and recommend twice-weekly service above 10 users per unit. Shade placement, door facing north, helps.
Do you rent for spring sports seasons and summer camps?
Youth baseball, soccer and lacrosse fields from April to October, and day camps June to August, are on the 28-day cycle with weekly service. Fields with weekend tournaments get a Friday service visit so units are fresh Saturday morning.
Is it cheaper to rent in the off-season?
The unit rates are the same year-round. What changes is availability: deluxe units and trailers are easier to get on short notice from November to March, and we can hold a May or June wedding date without a deposit if you book before February.
