Who should rent the standard unit, and who should not?

Rent the standard PJN3 for construction crews, remodels, backyard parties, sports fields and any site where people expect a basic clean toilet. Skip it for weddings, catered events, or any event with food vendors, where guests expect a flush and a sink. For those, the deluxe flushing unit or a restroom trailer keeps the line moving and the complaints away.

How much does a standard porta potty cost in Bethlehem?

A standard PJN3 costs $225 for a weekend event (Friday delivery, Monday pickup, delivery and pickup included within 15 miles, no servicing) or $185 per 28-day cycle plus a one-time $65 delivery and pickup fee for construction and home use, with weekly service included. Renewals drop to $165 per cycle. Pennsylvania sales tax of 6% is added. Your quote itemizes every line.

Three things move the price: distance beyond 15 miles (flat route fee), extra service visits ($35 per visit), and a dedicated same-day trip ($75, only when no route truck is nearby). The pricing guide shows every fee we charge and every one we do not.

How is a standard porta potty cleaned on a 28-day rental?

Every 28-day PJN3 rental gets a weekly service visit on a fixed route day. The driver pumps the tank, pressure-washes the bowl, floor and walls, wipes the seat and urinal, restocks two tissue rolls and sanitizer, recharges the deodorizer and logs the visit. The whole stop takes about eight minutes. Twice-weekly service is $45 per unit per week.

Waste goes to a permitted treatment plant. Pennsylvania rules under 25 Pa. Code §71.63 require chemical-toilet waste to be hauled to a disposal site approved by the Department of Environmental Protection, and our truck carries the DEP transporter number on both sides.

Standard porta potty questions from Bethlehem renters

Is the standard porta potty the blue one?

Our standard PolyJohn PJN3 units are blue or gray with a gray interior and a translucent roof that lets daylight in. For events we also carry pink PJN3 units with the same layout. If you want something that does not look like a jobsite unit, the white deluxe flushing unit is the usual pick.

Does the standard unit have a sink or just hand sanitizer?

The PJN3 has a hand sanitizer dispenser, not a sink. If food is served, the City of Bethlehem Health Bureau says sanitizer alone is not acceptable at temporary food facilities, so add a Bravo hand wash station or switch to the deluxe unit with a sink inside.

Will a standard porta potty fit through my gate?

The PJN3 is 43.5 inches wide and 47 inches deep. It rolls through a 48-inch gate on our hand dolly. A standard 36-inch garden gate is too narrow; in that case we place the unit on the driveway side of the fence.

How many people can use one standard unit before it fills?

The 60-gallon tank handles roughly 200 to 250 uses between pumpings, which covers about 100 guests over a 4-hour party or a crew of 10 for a work week. Larger crowds need more units or a mid-event pump-out, which we schedule for $35 per unit per visit.

Can the standard unit be locked?

We add a hasp and padlock on request at no charge. Keep the key with a site contact or in a lockbox; our driver carries a master key for service visits.

Does the standard unit smell?

Not when it is serviced on schedule. Each unit gets a blue deodorizer charge in the tank and a vent stack that pulls air out the roof. Weekly service in summer keeps odor down; in July heat on a busy site we recommend twice-weekly pumping.

How do you keep the standard unit from blowing over?

We place it on firm, level ground with the door facing away from the prevailing west wind when possible, and we stake or strap units on exposed sites such as the ridge lots above Route 378 at no extra cost. Report a tip-over the same day and we reset it.
